Coming...sometime: Barbara Hambly's Benjamin January mysteries - set in New Orleans in the 1830s, with lots of period detail, suspense, and very memorable characters.

After that: Look for P. D. James's Adam Dalgliesh mysteries at some point, and probably Neal Stephenson as well (Baroque Cycle and stand-alones). Possibly Lynn Flewelling too, as I'm getting more into fantasy as I get older. Odd, eh? Oh well. I seem to be updating this so sporadically that I'll just decide later...
